Many roads have been swallowed by the wild beast in the sky, and with each of its roars a tree or power line is struck down by lightning. Nevertheless, the beast is also calm. He allows us to play board games at home instead of studying vigorously, and he keeps us together inside the solid confines of our home. The beast feeds the plants and hydrates the animals. The beast is merciful and kind, as well as wild and savage.
The rain is really falling now, or as Nene says, it’s ‘taking a dump.’ Before this point, it usually rains for about two hours a day, with sunlight the rest of the time. Now, however, it has been raining for a solid day. Our school is closed because the road to it flooded, so we are stuck inside.
With my dad on a work trip, we are slowly driving my mom insane, especially since we are stuck inside. Vien is sick, so that puts him out for the count (he has stayed inside his bed for the past two days), but me and Nene are still alive and a little too well. I hope that tomorrow we have school so Mama doesn’t explode.
